100＋40%＝140  [=100×(1+0.4)]

  　⇒ 40% increase

100－40%=60 [=100×(1-0.4)]

     ⇒ 40% decrease

・If there is something other than an addition or subtraction sign before the ％

Calculates with ％ as (×0.01)

(Example)

100×40％＝40 [=100×(40×0.01)]

100÷40%=250 [=100÷(40×0.01)] 

100^40%=6.3095 [=100^(40×0.01)]
